2009. I did my Master's Thesis on identity formation and disclosure decisions in the BDSM community (whether or not to tell someone that you're kinky). The qualitative research I did was groundbreaking, because there has been so little research in this community. I would go on to boil down my research into a published paper, but I will forever be grateful to the Health Communication program at Emerson for being so supportive of my work.
