My apartment in Williamsburg had ugly old grey wall-to-wall carpet. To cover it, I made a painted wall-to-wall canvas rug. The theme was binary 1s and 0s and lyrics from Parappa the Rapper like, "All you ever need is to be nice and friendly".
I don't have great pictures of it, but here a few where you can catch a glimpse of what it looked like in context.
It crackled but didn't peel. It was really very pleasant to live with.
