2001. I first made this shirt as costume design for a greek warrior in a play. It combined a mesh shirt my aunt had given me with golden toy soldiers and glitter. It was so interesting I wore it a few times on its own.
That photos was taken right after 9/11 so I was feeling the heaviness of war.
I was wearing it at Burning Man in 2005 when someone in a suit walked up to me and gave me an "Art grant" (which was a $2 bill).
